Youtube set to protect trademarks of influencers shaping the society
Support services provided by YouTube now extend to automatic protection of a registered trademark for all videos and channels.
When renewing a trademark, issuing a new certificate is very individual and varies from jurisdiction to jurisdiction.
For example, in the US, you will receive a new certificate when you renew your trademark. The certificate will include a new expiration date and revised information, i.e. the list of classes if some were dropped during the renewal (you cannot add classes or make changes to your trademark at renewal, only a limitation of classes is possible).
In the UK, you will not receive a new certificate on renewal. Your renewal will be recorded in the UKIPO register, and you will only receive a new certificate if you request it.
It's important to note that renewing your trademark is a formal process during which most about your application doesn't change except the expiry date. Therefore, issuing a new certificate is considered unnecessary in some jurisdictions.
